What is Music Therapy?
Music Therapy is the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program. (AMTA, 2016)
Focus
At JAZY Music Therapy, we focus on providing high quality evidence based services to those in need of bereavement care, children and adolescence requiring emotional support, and children with special medical needs. Individual and group sessions can be designed to:

- Develop coping skills
- Address feelings of anxiety, depression, or loss
- Promote life review and legacy building
- Improve emotional regulation
- Empower and enhance quality of life
Jennifer A. Yurkovich, MS, MT-BC
Jennifer Yurkovich has a passion for improving the lives of others through music therapy interventions. Jennifer enjoys the opportunity to work with children and adults with special and medical needs, those in need of emotional support, and those who would benefit from bereavement care. Jennifer has been a board certified music therapist working at Nationwide Children’s Hospital starting in 2009. Jennifer holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy from Ohio University and a Master of Science in Music Therapy from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). In addition to her work with hospitalized infants and children at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Jennifer provides consultation based music therapy services through JAZY Music Therapy. She also serves as a product advisor and advocate for DocuMT, a leading music therapy documentation technology platform focused on clinical documentation tools.
